A grower who sells straight to restaurants and households in the city
The work
The harvest depends on the weather, and the weather is less predictable than it used to be. When a heatwave brings a crop in a week early, buyers need to hear about it that day.
Where it gets hard
- Orders from restaurants, a weekly box scheme and a market stall, all planned on paper
- Buyers told late when a crop changes
What running it in one place changes
- Harvests, orders and buyers on one screen
- A change in the field reaches every buyer at once
