A same-day delivery start-up that outgrew its group chats
The work
Two founders promised local shops same-day delivery and a real person on the phone. The vans ran on time. The office ran on group chats and a shared spreadsheet.
Where it gets hard
- Jobs come in through calls and messages and get copied by hand
- Drivers and shops ask the same question several times a day
- Invoices to shops go out late, so cash comes in late
What running it in one place changes
- Every job, driver and shop is in one place
- Shops can see where their delivery is without calling
- Invoices go out from the same record as the job
