A volunteer relief group that has to move fast when the river rises
The work
Floods are coming more often and hitting harder. When they do, a small charity has hours to find its volunteers, open a donation drive and get supplies to the right camp. The rest of the year it runs quieter programmes, and donors expect the same care with their money either way.
Where it gets hard
- Volunteer lists are out of date on the day they matter most
- Donors wait weeks for a receipt
- The accounts have to show exactly where each gift went
What running it in one place changes
- Volunteers, donors and members are in one list that stays current
- A receipt goes out when the donation comes in
- Money in and money out are recorded in one place, ready for the trustees
