Business and Channel Terms
Extra terms for businesses and for anyone who runs a channel on Intersink: verification, your duties to your customers and to the people and businesses below your channel, the tools you get to look after them, and our duties to you as a business user.
1. When these terms apply
These terms add to the Terms of Service when you create or run a business or a channel on Intersink. A "channel operator" is the business that owns a channel. The people, profiles, businesses and channels created on your channel, and on the channels below it, are "below" your channel.
You use Intersink as a business user for your trade, business or profession. Consumer protections in the Terms of Service do not apply to this use.
2. Verification and accurate information
You must give true, complete and current information about the business: legal name, trading name, registration number, address, contact details, who owns and controls it, and bank details for payouts. We or the channel your business was created on may ask for documents to check them, and may use third-party verification services.
Until verification is complete, some features (selling, taking payments, payouts, the developer program) may be unavailable. We may re-check at any time, for example after a change of ownership or a risk signal.
- You must have every licence, registration and permission your activity needs (for example VAT registration, food, alcohol, medicines, financial or professional regulation).
- Tell us within 14 days about any change of control, insolvency event, or a regulator’s action against the business.
3. Your duties to your customers
You are the seller or provider of what you offer through your channel, not us. You are responsible for:
- Your goods, services, content, prices and descriptions being lawful, accurate and not misleading (in the UK including the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and, where in force, the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024).
- Telling customers who you are and how to contact you, and the pre-contract information the law requires.
- Honouring customers’ statutory rights: cancellation within 14 days for distance sales, refunds, repairs and replacements for faulty goods, and delivery on time.
- Your own customer terms and privacy notice for your channel. Intersink gives you templates, but you are responsible for what you publish.
- Collecting and paying the taxes on your sales, unless Intersink tells you in writing that it does so for a specific tax.
If you do not honour customers’ rights, we may act under the enforcement policy, including refunding a customer from funds we hold for you where the payment terms allow.
4. Personal data
For the personal data of your customers and the people who use your channel, you are the controller and we are your processor, under the Data Processing Addendum. You must have a lawful basis for what you do with it, tell people about it in your privacy notice, and respond to their requests. We help you with tools to export, correct and delete data and with the legal requests inbox.
For the data we need to run Intersink itself (accounts, security, billing, fraud prevention, safety decisions), we are a controller under our Privacy Notice.
5. Looking after what is below your channel
Each channel looks after what is created on it. As a channel operator you get, and must use responsibly:
- Sign-up rules: decide who can create an account on your channel (anyone, listed e-mail addresses and domains, or nobody new).
- Business review: approve or reject businesses created on your channel, with a reason.
- Trust and safety: receive reports about accounts, profiles, businesses and channels below you, and warn, suspend or lift decisions, or send a case up to the channel above.
- Legal and data requests: receive requests at your channel’s request form, with due dates.
- Emergency controls: show a banner to your channel (and those below), close sign-ups, pause API keys below you.
- Ad partner: enrol your channel to show ads on your own platform and earn your share, under the Ad Partner Terms.
When you take a decision you must follow the enforcement policy: act in good faith, give a clear reason the person can read, treat similar cases alike, never discriminate unlawfully, and decide appeals fairly. Decisions you take are logged and can be reviewed by the channels above you and by us.
Reports of illegal content always reach us as well. If you become aware of illegal content or activity below your channel, you must act on it promptly and preserve evidence when the law requires. If you are a regulated service under the UK Online Safety Act 2023 or the EU Digital Services Act in your own right, you are responsible for your own duties under them; Intersink’s tools are designed to help you meet them.
6. No API loop, no resale of the platform
A channel of a business created on Intersink can enable its own API in Settings › API (test keys at once, live keys once the business is verified). A channel can let the people below it create accounts, businesses and their own channels, but it can never give them API access, sell or sublicense Intersink, or offer Intersink under another name as a platform for others to build on. Channels of businesses created further down a channel tree cannot enable the API. See the Developer Terms and API Policy.
Your own branding on your channel is welcome. Presenting Intersink itself as your own platform product, or charging others for access to Intersink functions as a reseller, needs a separate written agreement with us.
7. Payments and payouts
Card and other payments on channels are processed by our payment partners under their terms, which you accept when you enable payments. Payouts go only to a bank account in the business’s own name. We may hold or delay payouts where the law requires, where a payment is disputed, or under the enforcement policy when there is a real risk of fraud or harm to customers; we tell you why and for how long.
8. Our duties to you as a business user
If your business offers goods or services to consumers in the UK or EU through Intersink, the Platform-to-Business Regulation applies to us. In particular:
- These terms are written plainly and available at all times; we give at least 15 days’ notice of changes (longer for changes that need you to adapt your systems).
- Before or at the time we restrict or suspend your business, channel or listing, we give you a statement of reasons; you can clarify the facts through an appeal.
- We give at least 30 days’ notice and reasons before ending our service to your business entirely, unless a legal obligation, a court, repeated breaches or a serious risk requires immediate action.
- Ranking: listings in Intersink search and marketplace are ordered mainly by relevance to the search, then quality signals (accurate information, delivery and service record, customer reviews) and recency. Payment does not affect organic ranking; paid placements are labelled as ads.
- Data: you can access the data you and your customers provide through your channel at any time and export it. We use aggregated channel data to run and improve Intersink and do not sell it.
- Complaints: our internal complaint-handling system is free; write to [email protected] or use Help › Business complaint. We acknowledge within 2 working days and aim to decide within 30 days. You can also go to mediation with CEDR (the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, cedr.com); we pay a reasonable share of the cost.
9. Fees, taxes and invoices
Business fees, the monthly invoice, credits, late payment and refunds are in Fees, billing and refunds. Prices exclude VAT and other taxes unless stated; you give us correct tax details for your invoices.
10. Confidentiality and security
Keep confidential any non-public information about Intersink you receive (for example security details, review notes shared with you, unreleased features). Use strong sign-in for everyone with access to your business, give each person only the role they need, and remove access when someone leaves. Tell us within 24 hours if you suspect a security incident affecting Intersink or your customers’ data on Intersink.
11. Ending
You can close a channel or business at any time. We can suspend or end your business or channel only as set out in the enforcement policy. When a channel closes, the accounts and businesses created on it are handled as described there: their owners are told, can export their data, and are not left without a way to reach their customers’ data without notice.
