Developer Terms
The terms for using the Intersink API: your channel’s own API (Settings › API), its test and live keys, and the developer program for apps published in the App Store or used by other businesses.
1. Who these terms are for
These terms are between Svayam Incarnation Limited and the business that uses the Intersink API ("you"). They add to the Terms of Service and the Business and Channel Terms. The API Policy is part of these terms. You accept them when you enable a channel’s API or join the developer program.
2. Your channel’s API
- Each channel has Settings › API. When its business was created on Intersink itself, its managers can enable the API there and create keys for that channel.
- Test keys work at once. They read the channel’s real data but can never change it; any write is refused.
- Live keys work once the business is verified. They read and change data within the scopes you give each key.
- A key can use only what the channel’s installed apps open (their scopes), only on that channel, and from a browser only on that channel’s own web addresses (and localhost for test keys).
- Disabling the API stops every key of the channel at once.
3. No API loop, no resale
API access is given by Intersink alone. A channel can let people create accounts, businesses and channels below it, but it can never pass API access to them, share its keys, or offer Intersink functions to others as a platform or white-label service. Channels of businesses created further down a channel tree cannot enable the API.
4. The developer program
- The developer program is for publishing apps in the Intersink App Store (by invitation for now) and for apps that will work with other businesses’ data. You do not need it for your own channels’ API.
- You join with a business created on Intersink, accept these terms, and pay the annual fee of US$18 (or £14 for businesses billed in pounds), added to your normal invoice. We review the developer account and may refuse it with a reason.
- An app that works with other businesses’ data describes itself as a project (what it does, its domains, the scopes it needs, its privacy policy and a phone number) and is reviewed before its live keys work. It confirms each year in a data use checkup that it still does what was approved.
- The fee is not refunded if your application is refused, if you leave, or after a suspension or ending for a breach, except where the law requires.
5. Licence
While your API access is active, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to use the API, its documentation and SDKs for your own channels or approved apps, within these terms and the API Policy. Everything not expressly licensed is reserved.
6. What you must never do
- Give, sell, rent or share API keys or access, or let anyone use your keys for their own purposes.
- Build, or help build, a competing platform, a copy of Intersink, or a white-label service offering Intersink functions to others; or use API data to train models that do so.
- Get around scopes, domain restrictions, rate limits, test-key limits, reviews or suspensions.
- Sell personal data obtained through the API, use it for advertising profiles, or combine it to identify people in ways they would not expect.
- Use the API for anything the Acceptable Use Policy forbids.
7. Personal data
The personal data of your channel’s customers is yours as controller; Intersink processes it for you under the Data Processing Addendum. Use it only for your own channel’s purposes, keep it secure, honour people’s rights, and delete copies obtained through the API when you no longer need them. Transfers outside the UK or EEA need a lawful mechanism.
8. Security
- Keep secret keys on your server, never in a browser, a mobile app or a public repository. Use test keys while you build.
- Use the fewest scopes you need, IP allow-lists where you can, and rotate keys regularly and at once if one may have leaked.
- Tell us within 24 hours of a security incident that affects Intersink, your keys or API data.
- We may pause a key, a project or a channel’s API at once to stop a risk, and tell you why.
9. Usage, limits and charges
All keys of a channel (or a project) share one rate limit. Each business’s first 1,000,000 live requests a month are included; above that, live requests are charged at US$2.00 (or £1.60) per million on the monthly invoice. Test requests are not charged. We give at least 30 days’ notice of a change to limits or prices.
10. Changes to the API
We give at least 90 days’ notice before a change that breaks existing integrations, and keep a changelog, unless a change is needed sooner for security, for the law or to stop abuse.
11. Suspension and ending
- You can disable a channel’s API, leave the developer program, or revoke keys at any time.
- We may suspend a key, a channel’s API, a project or a developer account under the enforcement policy: at once where needed to stop harm, otherwise after a warning, always with reasons and one appeal.
- We may end API access with at least 30 days’ notice and reasons, or at once for a serious or repeated breach, sanctions or an order from an authority.
12. Warranties and liability
The API is provided "as is" and "as available". Our liability is limited as set out for businesses in the Terms of Service. You will compensate us for claims by third parties arising from your use of the API or your breach of these terms, except to the extent we caused them.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
